Prayer to God

Merciful, gracious, and good God of the world! We recognize and acknowledge what a great good and precious treasure the beloved world is, without which there can be no blessing or success in any land, but there is only destruction, curse and misfortune. We ask You with all our hearts: deign to grant and send down to all high rulers a peaceful disposition of soul, peace-loving advice and advisers who create peace and most of all love truth and peace. Grant us obedience to Your word and to the authorities placed over us, so that we do not drive away the precious world from ourselves. Beloved Father! May we be at peace, for You are not a God of discord, but a God of peace. Grant us to have peace among ourselves, so that You, O God of peace and love, may abide with us. Amen.

Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia

Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church, hear our earnest prayer! We, like children from you, still exist, listening to the ancient passion-bearers, and thought in our hearts how kindly and praiseworthy it is to imitate such, Neither torment nor death can separate them from the love of God. It is good for you, for you have followed the nature of the faith and patience of those, and since at any time it is possible that we may experience this unexpected trial, ask the Lord for courage for us a gift that is so useful in human life. Having sanctified all the ends of our Fatherland through your suffering, as they are common to all our prayer books, beg God to deliver our Fatherland from the yoke, more terrible than any other. And may we and our entire race be forgiven the sin that burdens the Russian people: the murder of the Tsar, the anointed of God, the saints and shepherds with their flock, and the suffering of confessors, and desecration our shrines. May the schisms in our Church be abolished, may they all be united, and may the Lord bring His workers to the harvest, may the Church not become destitute of good shepherds who have the power to enlighten By the light of the true faith there are so many people who have not been taught the faith or have turned away from the faith. You are unworthy of God’s mercy, even if you suffer for your sake, may Christ our God be merciful and have mercy on all of us who call for your help. Let us always offer to Him, our Savior, together with the Father and the Holy Spirit, contrition for sins and thanksgiving for everything, glorifying Him forever and ever. Amen.

Prayers before the icon of the Mother of God “Sovereign”
Prayer 1st

Sovereign Lady, the Most Holy Theotokos, holding in Her arms the Heavenly King who contains the entire universe! We thank You for Your ineffable mercy, for You have deigned to show us, sinners and unworthy, this holy and miraculous icon of Yours in these evil and fierce, like a whirlwind, like a windy storm that came upon our country, in the days of our humiliation and reproach, in the days of the destruction and desecration of our shrines from crazy people who exactly in the heart, but also with the lips they boldly say: there is no God; and in business they show this godlessness. We thank You, Intercessor, for You have looked down from Your holy height on our sorrow and the grief of the children of the Orthodox, and like the bright sun, you have cheered those who are exhausted from sadness Our eyes combed with the sweetest sight of Thy Sovereign image. Oh, blessed Mother of God, Sovereign Helper, strong Intercessor! Thanking Thee with fear and trembling, like slaves of insanity, we fall down to Thee with tenderness, with heartfelt contrition and with tears, and we pray to Thee, and we lamentably cry out to Thee: save us, save us! Help us, help us! Struggling: we are perishing! Behold, our living hell is approaching; This has happened to us, there are many sins, many troubles, many enemies. O Heavenly Queen! With the scepter of Your Divine power, scatter, like dust, like smoke, the wicked machinations of our enemies, visible and invisible, crush their grandiose thoughts and forbid them to them, and as the Mother of all, guide them on the right and godly path. Root in the hearts of all of us truth, peace and joy about the Holy Spirit; Bring to our country silence, prosperity, serenity, unfeigned love for each other. With Your omnipotent power, O Most Pure One, restrain the streams of lawlessness that want to drown the Russian land in their terrible abyss. Support us, the weak, the faint-hearted, the frail and the sad, strengthen, uplift and save us: as under Your power we always keep, we praise and magnify the Most Honest and Magnificent Name Yours, now and forever and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Prayer 2

Oh, peace to the Intercessor, Mother of All Singing! With fear, faith and love, falling before Your honorable icon “The Sovereign,” we fervently pray to You: do not turn Your face away from those who come running to You. Pray, merciful Mother of light, Your Son and our God, the Sweetest Lord Jesus Christ, to keep our country in peace, to establish our country in prosperity and deliver us from internecine warfare; may he strengthen our Orthodox Holy Church and unshakably protect her from unbelief, schism and heresies. The imams have no other help than You, Most Pure Virgin: You are the all-powerful Christian Intercessor before God, softening His righteous wrath. Deliver all who pray to You with faith from the falls of sin, from the slander of evil people, from hunger, sorrow and illness. Grant us the spirit of contrition, humility of heart, purity of thoughts, correction of sinful life and forgiveness of our sins; Yes, all of us, gratefully praising Your greatness, let us become worthy of the Heavenly Kingdom, and there, with all the Saints, let us glorify the Most Honorable and Magnificent Name in the Trinity of the glorified God: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
