Bishop Veniamin of South Bessarabia honors his patron, St. Mc. Veniamin.
His Eminence was born on June 11, 1975 in Puhoi, in the Ialoveni district of the Republic of Moldova, to parents Ion and Evdochia Goreanu. At Baptism he received the name Veaceslav.
Training He attended the "Veniamin Costachi" Orthodox Theological Seminary from the Neamț Monastery (1990-1995), then the "Justinian Patriarch" Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Bucharest, which he graduated in 1999.
He completed his training with Law and Political Science studies at the University of Bucharest, postgraduate studies in theology and canon law, as well as courses at the Ecumenical Institute of Bossey (Switzerland).
In 2006, he obtained the title of Doctor of Theology at the "Ovidius" University of Constanța, with the qualification Summa cum laude, defending a thesis dedicated to the canonical unity of the Orthodox Church.
Academic and administrative activity In the first years of his activity, he was a volunteer teacher of Religion in two villages in the Republic of Moldova and a lecturer at the Academy of Theology in Chisinau, where he taught the subjects of Dogmatics and Christian Art.
