Metropolitan of Kyiv met Ukrainian Ambassador to Poland

Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine received Vasyl Bodnar, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Poland, at his residence in St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Monastery on August 7, 2026.

Metropolitan Yevstratiy of Bila Tserkva, Deputy Head of the Department for External Church Relations, also attended the meeting.

The discussion focused on efforts to reach an understanding with Poland regarding difficult historical issues. The participants stressed that the tragic chapters in the history of both countries should not define the present and future of Ukrainian-Polish relations, which must be founded on mutual forgiveness and respect.

The two sides also discussed the religious and sociopolitical situation in Ukraine and around the world, efforts to counter Russian aggression, and other current matters of mutual interest.
