Mount Athos will acquire a new versatile regional clinictranslated

A new Multipurpose Regional Clinic will acquire Mount Athos with the funding of the Region of Central Macedonia, after the signing of the relevant decision by Region Governor Athena Aedona. The new Multipurpose Regional Clinic will serve the needs of monks and pilgrims and will be financed through the Central Macedonia Region's NSRF with 3.4 million euros.

The operation of the Clinic will be carried out under the responsibility of the 4th Ministry of Health and its accommodation is planned with the construction of a building in the Holy Monastery of Vatopedi.

As Mrs. Aidona pointed out, "in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the 4th Ministry of Health, we are financing the construction of a new building, within Mount Athos, in order to create a necessary public health unit, which will prove valuable both for the monastic community and for the millions of visitors to Mount Athos annually. It is a legacy project for the State of Athonia, which comes to fill a big gap in health care and treatment.
