Yesterday, Sunday, August 2, 2026, a day on which our Holy Church honors the collection of the holy relics of the Holy Glorious Protomartyr and Archdeacon Stephen, a Patriarchal Divine Liturgy was held with special spiritual splendor at the Holy Patriarchal Monastery of Saint Savvas the Sanctified in Alexandria, the prelate of His Beatitude the Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa etc. Theodorou II. The Theophilest Bishops Hipponos Mr. Stefanos and Mareotis Mr. Damascinos, Patriarchal Commissioner of Alexandria, concelebrated with His Beatitude, while His Holiness the Metropolitan of Tamiatheos Mr. Germanos, spiritual leader of the Holy Patriarchal Monastery, was present to pray.

During the Divine Liturgy, His Beatitude performed the ordination to Elder of Hierodeacon Father Paisios Mulamba, a cleric of the Holy Metropolis of Kinshasa, originally from Kananga, Democratic Republic of Congo. Before the end of the Divine Liturgy, he was awarded the office of Archimandrite, in recognition of his fruitful ministry and his devotion to the Church.
