The feast of the Synacsis of all the Saints who shined in Lemnostranslated

July 14, 2026 · 1 min read

Universally and in a climate of spiritual harmony, the Synagogue of all the Saints who shined in Limnos was celebrated on our unspoiled island, with the center of attention being the Holy Metropolitan Church of Panagia Triados Myrinis, which, both in the evening and on the day of the feast, was flooded by believers of all ages, responding to the call of the Local Church for a spiritual supply and rendering of the due honor to those hierarchical, martyr and sacrificial figures, who at times sanctified the place, worked miracles and supported our forefathers in the faith of Christ, so that the historical island of the Archipelago, is not only overshadowed, according to Sophocles, by Athos, but also guarded for centuries by his Saints. More specifically, on the eve of the feast, Saturday, July 11, 2026, before the beginning of Vespers, the holy clergy and the faithful people of God received, in the propylaea of the Temple, fragments of saints and holy relics, kept in parish churches of our Holy Metropolis, with the first and foremost being that of the Holy Great Martyr Sozontos, the island's protector and treasurer.

Bogdan BarbuGood thing they also brought the relics of Saint Sozontos the first, he's been the protector of the island for so long. I liked that people of all ages came, not just old people. Did they also go to a procession with them after Vespers?

Gabriela PopescuYes, they put the relics of Saint Sozontos in front, as it should be, he is the protector of the island for centuries. I also liked that young people and children came, not just our old people. After Vespers, there was no procession, they just worshiped until late, but maybe next year they will do one.

Irina DumitrescuYes, I also noticed that the relics of Saint Sozontos were placed in front, as they deserve, being the protector of the island for so long. I thought it was nice that the young people came with their children, not just the old people; after Vespers, I also stayed in worship until late and it gave me peace. Do you think they could organize a small procession around the cathedral next year?
I
Ioana PopaYes, I too saw the relics of Saint Sozontos in place of honor, right in front, as befits the protector of the island. I also liked that many young people came with children, not just old people; after Vespers, I also sat in worship and felt a real peace. Next year a small procession around the cathedral would be good, I think it would attract even more people from Myrina.
