Mount Athos is presented in Hydra through 115 works by Giorgos Taxidistranslated

Giorgos Taxidis' artistic journey to Mount Athos is transferred to Hydra in August, through the exhibition "Mount Athos. Place of Silence". It is about recording the experiential experience of the artist, who in the period 2020-2025 made more than 15 visits to Mount Athos, toured all 20 monasteries, observed the daily life of the monks and participated in the services. He captured what he lived in 115 paintings, engravings and sculptures, using pencil, charcoal, oil and watercolour. The exhibition was initially presented at the Agioreitiki Estia in Thessaloniki, then it was hosted at the KYKLOPS Cultural Center in Drama and was followed by its presentation at the Sismanoglio Palace in Constantinople, in collaboration with the Consulate General of Greece.
From the 1st to the 31st of August, it will be presented in the main hall of the GAS/Historical Archive - Hydra Museum, as part of the "Theomitorika 2026" events.
