The Bishop of South Bessarabia consecrated the Cross in the Holy Trinity Monastery in Moldovatranslated

The Bishop of South Bessarabia, Mr. Benjamin, on Saturday, July 25, 2026, consecrated the Holy Cross, in the Holy Trinity Monastery in the city of Roșu, Moldova. The new Cross in the Monastery was completed with the support of several benefactors, in place of an older one, which had been damaged by the passage of time.

The hierarch emphasized that the Holy Cross "has become the symbol of the victory over death and the liberation of the human race from the slavery of sin and the devil."

He also explained the deep significance of the cross in the life of Christians, showing that although in ancient times it was an instrument of torture, through the sacrifice of Christ, it became a source of salvation. "Our Savior accepted to suffer in order to free us from the slavery of death and the devil and to give us the grace and strength to remain in constant communion with God," the prelate said.
