High-priestly Divine Liturgy and national commemorations of heroes in Kampia, Cyprustranslated

Today, Sunday, July 26, 2026, a High Priestly Divine Liturgy was held at the Holy Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior, in the community of Kampion. The Divine Liturgy was presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Isaia of Tamasos and Orini, who preached the divine word to the congregation.

During the Divine Liturgy, the annual national commemorations of the community's heroes were held, paying due respect to those who fought and sacrificed for the freedom of our homeland.

In his sermon, His Holiness emphasized that the Church never forgets its children who sacrificed themselves for the high ideals of faith and country, as the memory of heroes is a debt of gratitude as well as a source of inspiration for the younger generations.

He emphasized that the true honor for the fallen is expressed not only with memorial prayers, but mainly with the preservation of spiritual values, unity, love for the country and faith in God.
