Dimitriados: As long as we love Christ, we can walk on the waves of lifetranslated

August 1, 2026 · 1 min read

Watch the short video prepared by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Dimitrias and Almyros, Mr. Ignatios, for the 9th Sunday of Matthew.

Jesus' disciples are in the ship and the sea has waves. The ship is in danger and Jesus appears walking on the waves. The students were momentarily frightened!

"Have courage" he says to them "I am", and then Peter seeing that it is Jesus, to confirm it even more with the love he had, said to Him: "Lord if it is you let me come and find you on the waves" and he walks on the waves!

But at some point he is afraid and then he starts to sink and Christ gives him a hand and saves him. As long as Peter loved Christ and thought only of Christ, he walked on the waves. When he thought of himself, he began to sink.

As long as we think and love Christ, we can also walk on the waves of this life. But if we think only of ourselves, then we sink.

Christ is our redeemer. He reaches out to us, asks us to have courage as long as we give Him our love. Christ is for all of us and wants to save us! He only asks for our love. "
