From the book page to a living testimony: employees of the regional library visited the exhibition “Liturgy with the Patriarch”translated

A book preserves the word, a photograph preserves the moment. But both of these help a person to touch history and see more deeply what is addressed not only to the mind, but also to the heart.
Employees of the institution “Gomel Regional Universal Library named after. V.I. Lenin" together with deputy director Tatyana Leonidovna Barabanshchikova visited the photo exhibition "Liturgy with the Patriarch".
The exposition became for the guests a special path into Orthodox worship. More than 300 photographs, created over fifteen years, consistently reveal the course of the Divine Liturgy - from the meeting of the Primate at the door of the church to the final sermon.
In eleven sections of the exhibition, visitors are presented not only with the solemn moments of the Patriarchal service, but also with the concentrated prayer of the clergy and laity, the reverent silence of the church, the joy of communion and the unity of the believing people.
For librarians who daily serve the cause of education and preservation of cultural memory, this meeting took on a special meaning. The exhibition reminded that spiritual heritage is transmitted not only through books and documents: it is preserved by human faces, moments of prayer and living testimonies of faith.
