The Chairman of the Missionary Department of the Odintsovo Diocese presented an interactive educational project to young peopletranslated

July 14, 2026 · 1 min read

On July 13, the chairman of the Missionary Department of the Odintsovo Diocese, Archpriest Ilya Nastevich, visited a summer youth camp organized by the diocesan department for work with youth.

During the meeting, Father Elijah presented to the camp participants an educational project dedicated to the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia. The young people got acquainted with a mobile quest excursion developed by the Missionary Department of the Odintsovo Diocese, and with the help of a chatbot, they went through an interactive route, completing thematic tasks and answering questions dedicated to the history, culture and spiritual heritage of the peoples of our country.

After completing the quest, a discussion of the project took place, during which the participants shared their impressions. The interactive format aroused keen interest among young people and showed the effectiveness of using modern digital technologies in spiritual and moral education and missionary work.

Pavel ČernýSounds good, an interactive chatbot quest for youngsters is a smart idea. Interesting how they connected it with the year of the unity of nations and their spiritual heritage. I would like to know if the project could ever be shown in our parish.
С
Софья НовиковаIt’s interesting that the quest was made specifically about the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia - tasks about history and spiritual heritage probably caught the children’s attention well. Last year at our camp we also tried something interactive, but without a bot, and the youth quickly lost interest. How can I look at this project in more detail? Did Father Elijah post a link somewhere?
Р
Роман ЗайцевYes, the assignments about the unity of peoples and spiritual heritage really caught my attention, especially when you go through the phone. We tried a similar quest at our parish in Rostov - the kids liked the questions about saints of different nations the most. Father Elijah, it seems, posted a link to the bot in the diocese group, look there. What exactly didn’t work for you last year without a bot?
E
Eva SvobodováI agree, the interactive chatbot quest sounds like a good way to engage the youngsters. At our parish, it could be tried, for example, during a summer event for youth. Pavel, do you have any concrete idea how we could organize it here?
J
Jakub SvobodaYes, the quest with the chatbot would easily go to our parish garden during the August event for children and youth. We could combine it with tasting traditional dishes from different nations that I cook with the girls. Pavel, what do you think, do you have time to touch it technically?
H
Hana DvořákováThat's a good idea, Eva. The quest with the chatbot could be connected with our parish kitchen - maybe add questions about food and traditions of individual nations, so that it is not just on the phone. Pavel, would you try to test it on a few people before the August event?
И
Илья АндреевYes, assignments on spiritual heritage are really captivating, especially when about local saints or how different peoples prayed in one temple. Last year we tried a similar format at our parish in Yaroslavl - the children held attention longer. Sophia, what exactly did they try in your camp without a bot, a game, or just questions on pieces of paper?
Т
Тимофей ТарасовYes, tasks about spiritual heritage and the history of peoples really hold attention well, especially when you can check it right away on your phone. Father Elijah, in my opinion, posted a link to the bot in the telegram channel of the missionary department, try searching there. What exactly did you try last year without a bot, Sophia, maybe there was something useful too?
H
Hana DvořákováI agree, Evčo, the chatbot could easily work in our parish as well. We could combine it with cooking some simple Russian or Tatar food, which we would then taste together after the quest. Pavel, do you have time to try it on your phone at least once before the holidays?
Н
Наталья СоколоваYes, tasks about spiritual heritage are really captivating, especially when you can immediately check the answer on your phone. Last year, at a similar camp, I tried regular paper cards with questions on the history of temples - the youth quickly lost interest. I found a link to the bot, thanks, I’ll try to go through it myself in the evening.
М
Марина ВолковаYes, Timofey, assignments on spiritual heritage really stick, especially when you immediately check the answer on the phone. Last year in our camp we tried simply the stories of Father Elijah without any cards or bots - the youth listened, but quickly began to be distracted by their own affairs. Have you already completed this quest yourself?
С
Сергей БеловFather Elijah actually posted the link in the channel, I found it there last night and went through a couple of stages - questions about the culture of the Tatars and Bashkirs turned out to be unexpectedly interesting. And without a bot, last year in our parish we simply held a quiz on paper after the conversation, so half of the guys were on their phones within ten minutes. Timofey, did you reach the end or did you stop at some question?
Е
Елена БеловаYes, Marina, it’s good that you compared it with last year’s stories. My son was in a similar camp a couple of years ago, and he also said that without tasks on the phone, attention quickly disappears. In this quest, what question about spiritual heritage do you remember most?
J
Jan NovákYes, the post-quest cooking idea is a good one, Hana. We could start with something as simple as tartar tea with cake, which we would bake in our parish kitchen. Pavel, let me know if you can try it before the end of June, so we know if it will work on an older phone.
