Rethymno: The small chapel that emerged unscathed from the wildfire that ravaged Triopetra

In Triopetra, in the Municipality of Agios Vasileios, moving images of deep emotion have been captured amid the devastation left behind by a wildfire.

Amid the charred landscape and blackened terrain created by the flames, a small chapel stands untouched, evoking emotion and awe in anyone who sees it.

According to neakriti.gr , the fire swept through the vegetation, reducing large areas of southern Rethymno to ashes and leaving deep scars on the natural environment and the properties of residents. Yet within this landscape of devastation, the small chapel of Triopetra remains unharmed, creating a striking contrast: the ground around it is blackened, yet the chapel still stands.

I didn't expect this. The chapel stands intact while everything around is blackened by the fire. I remember passing by Triopetra last year with fishing, I had seen it from afar. I hope it brings some comfort to the people there.
