The Romanian community in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, continues the renovation of the "Holy Trinity and Saint Nectary of Aegina" Church by restoring the tower of the place of worship.

After the renovation of the roof carried out last year, the community started the restoration of the tower, which will also serve as a bell tower. According to parish priest Marius Manea, the spire is more than a century old, the construction of the church dating from 1877-1909.

"It suffered a lot due to water infiltration, the structure being made of wood," the priest told Basilica.ro.

The first stage of the project consisted of dismantling the tower and preparing it for full restoration. During the works, the church will be temporarily without its spire and cross.

"The faithful are already preparing for the great celebration when the spire will be put back in its place together with the cross and, with the help of the Good God, also with bells that will call them and gather them to the Holy Liturgy", emphasized Father Marius Manea.

The works are carried out with the support of the Department for Romanians Everywhere.

The Romanian parish "Holy Trinity and Holy Hierarch Nectarius of Aegina" in Neuchâtel belongs to the Archdiocese of Europe...
