St. John Jacob was celebrated in his hometown: Our duty is to follow the example of his lifetranslated

"Our duty is to follow the example of his life and the legacy he left us, not to keep it in libraries, but to make it alive through our lives", urged PS Varlaam Ploieșteanul on Wednesday at Crăiniceni Monastery in Horodiștea, Botoșani county.
The monastic settlement, which has Saint John Jacob from Neamț as its patron, is located near the house where the saint lived.
On the occasion of the dedication, the Holy Liturgy was officiated by Metropolitan Teofan of Moldova and Bucovina, together with the Patriarchal Vicar Bishop Varlaam Ploieșteanul and the Vicar Bishop Damaschin Dorneanul of the Archdiocese of Suceava and Rădăuțil.
The Reverend Father Varlaam Ploieștean urged the faithful to follow the example of the celebrated saint and to know his work.
"Saint John speaks in fiery words, although he never came to his native country after 1936. But he carried it in his prayers, in his thoughts, and dedicated verses of extraordinary affectivity to the country and its people."
