National Ambulance Day in Romania: 120 years of life's servicetranslated

Saturday marks 120 years since the establishment of the first "Rescue" in Bucharest, a moment that laid the foundation for the modern ambulance service in our country and which is marked annually on July 28, under the name of National Ambulance Day.

The first ambulance in Romania was established on July 28, 1906, at the initiative of the doctor Nicolae Minovici, under the name "Society of Rescue from Bucharest". From the beginning, the new service had a clear mission: rapid intervention to save the lives of people in emergency situations.

The motto under which it began its activity - "Always and to everyone, ready for help" - continues today to express the vocation of those who answer, day and night, the calls received through the emergency system.

The National Ambulance Day was established by Law no. 22/2015, as a sign of recognition of the activity carried out by public ambulance services and their contribution to protecting the life and health of the population.
