"Let us entrust to the Mother of God our families, children and young people, parents and the elderly, the sick and the lonely, our homes, journeys, worries, trials and all our needs", Bishop Macarie of Northern Europe conveys in a message at the beginning of the Fast of the Assumption of the Mother of God.
The hierarch urges the faithful to read the Chaplet of the Mother of God at home or to attend church services, where this prayer will be sung throughout Lent.
"I urge you that, every evening, we gather in churches and in our homes and read the Prayer of the Mother of God, asking the Most Holy Theotokos to be our protector, intercessor, strength in trials and guide to her Son, our Lord Jesus Christ", conveys His Eminence.
"In this fast, let's ask the Mother of God to teach us the silence that clarifies us, the humility that elevates us, the obedience that gives birth to peace and the sacrificial love. May she help us to carry Christ in our hearts and to testify to him through a pure, peaceful and merciful life."
