Feast of Saint Panteleimon and memory of blessed Metropolitan Nikiforos in Kinshasatranslated

On the day of the feast of Saint Panteleimon, the Great Martyr and Healer, a High Priestly Divine Liturgy was held at the Holy Church of Saint Mark the Apostle in Kinshasa, presided over by the Reverend Metropolitan of Kinshasa, Mr. Theodosios.

After the end of the Divine Liturgy, a Holy Trisagion was celebrated for the repose of the soul of the late Metropolitan of Kinshasa, Mr. Nikiforos, as on this day five years were completed since his ordination.

His Eminence spoke with deep respect and love to his late predecessor and spiritual father, whom he described as a "modern Saint of the Church", an "ascetic Bishop", a "Bishop of prayer and humility", with an inexhaustible love for every human being.

At the same time, he underlined that holy High Priests passed from the Holy Metropolis of Kinshasa and from Congo in general, which, as he noted, is a great honor and a special blessing for the country.
