The mention of Fr Panayiotis Kouros coming from Kastanitsa and serving at the Liturgy really stood out to me. It must feel special for him to be back in his home village for something like this. The new memorial stone with all the names is a good, solid way to make sure those who fell aren’t forgotten.

The bit about Fr Panayiotis Kouros serving at the Liturgy in the village he comes from really stuck with me too. Nice that they unveiled the memorial stone with all the names so the fallen aren't forgotten. Hope the cultural club keeps putting on these events with the old Tsakonian songs.

Yes, it’s nice that Fr. Panayiotis could be there serving right in the village he’s from; I’m sure it meant a lot to him and to the older folks who remember his family. The new memorial stone with every name carved on it feels like the right kind of quiet respect. Did you ever get to visit Kastanitsa yourself?
