July 27, 2026 · 1 min read

With modest church Masses and universally, this year the Holy Memory of Saint Osioparthenomartyr Paraskevi of Athliphoros was celebrated again in the pilgrimage church of the same name, on a green edge of Eleftheroupoli. On the evening of the feast, Sunday July 25, 2026, the solemn High Priestly Vespers was held, presided over by our Reverend Pastor Mr. Chrysostomos, flanked by the Priests and Deacons of the city, the superior of the Protosingel of the Metropolis, Panosiology Archimandrite Chrysostomos Benou.

Markus WagnerThe report from Eleftheroupoli spoke to me straight away. I found it particularly beautiful how the bishop emphasized that the saint gave away all her wealth to the poor so that Christ remained her only treasure. Elena NakoYes, I really liked that Metropolitan Chrysostomos emphasized that Saint Paraskeva shared her wealth with the poor so that Christ remains her only treasure. Even when I go to church after work at the boutique, I think about how little we really need. Do you know if there are any old icons of her that can be seen in Eleftheroupoli?

Stefan HoffmannYes, I was also touched by the wealth she gave to the poor. In my garden I often think about how much one actually has to let go of so that Christ truly remains the only treasure. Are you still cooking the Serbian beans you brought after choir last year?
