The celebration of the Transfiguration of the Savior in Thessalonikitranslated

The great despotic feast of the Transfiguration of the Savior was celebrated with particular splendor in Thessaloniki, centered on the eponymous Parish Church. On the eve, Thursday, August 5, the Great Solemn High Priestly Vespers was held, which was officiated by the Metropolitan of Thessaloniki, Mr. Filotheos.

The Most Reverend Metropolitan of Vryoulon, Mr. Panteleimon, attended Vespers.

The divine word was preached by Fr. Iakovos Athanasiou, Protosygello of the Metropolis.

On the holy day, Thursday August 6, the Solemn High Priestly Divine Liturgy was held, during which our Bishop presided, who also preached the divine word.

Before the dismissal, our Pastor thanked and congratulated the vicars of the Holy Church, Fr. Nikolaos Papageorgiou, president of the Ecclesiastical Council, Fr. Efstathios Kalpakidis and Fr. Georgios Balinias, as well as the deacon of the Church, Fr. Andreas Petrakis. Our Metropolitan also congratulated the members of the Ecclesiastical Committees, the volunteers, the staff of the parish camp "To Thavor" and all those who helped in the preparation of this year's Festival.
