Events for the 100th anniversary of the construction of the old Church of Faneromeni Holargostranslated

August is the month par excellence of Our Lady. In the Cathedral Holy Church of Panagia Faneromenis Cholargos, from August 1st (beginning of the fast of the fifteenth of August) every day, until the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary on August 23rd (festival of the Holy Church):

· Every morning at 7.00 am Orthros and the Divine Liturgy are celebrated

· Every evening, at 6.30 p.m. Vespers is sung and the Holy Chapel of the Virgin Mary is sung.

As this year marks the 100th anniversary of the construction of the (old) Church of Faneromeni in Holargo, among the other events taking place in 2026, on THURSDAY 6 AUGUST, the feast of the Transfiguration of Christ the Saviour, at 6.30 pm, the parish has the great blessing and joy in the Lord to carry out the reception - repatriation ceremony of the old holy Reliquary, which had been crafted by blessed Father Ioannis Ventouris, first Vicar and founder of the new Holy Church of Panagia Faneromenis Cholargos.

The holy Reliquary was kept for a number of years in the Holy Monastery of Pantokrator Tao (Dau) Penteli and, at the care of the Priests, it was handed over again to our Holy Church, after the approval of the Mother of God...
