Larisis Hieronymos: The Feast of the Transfiguration is the feast of hope and perspectivetranslated

Yesterday, Tuesday, August 4, 2026, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Larissa and Tyrnavos, Mr. Ieronymos, went to the Holy Church of Panmegiston Taxiarches of Karitsa, in order to celebrate Vespers and then the Holy Invocation to the Blessed Virgin Mary. In his sermon, His Holiness referred to the upcoming Feast of the Transfiguration of the Savior, a feast where Christ's decisions and actions prove Divine justice, but also the interest in ensuring the salvation of souls. Thanks for the news. I was glad to read that the Most Reverend Jerome spoke of the feast of the Transfiguration as a feast of hope and uncreated light. Here in Sibiu, at the Rășinari monastery, it feels the same way that evening - as if you see what that light is calling us. Did he also mention father Pavel Harisis in the sermon?

Thanks for the news. I liked the phrase of Bishop Jerome that the Transfiguration is a celebration of hope and perspective, when we see what light everything should become. In Yaroslavl, on Spas Day, we also always try to climb some hill or at least a bell tower to look at the river and fields in this light. And in Karitsa, it seems that Father Pavel worked a lot, since he erected so many chapels.
