The Divine Transfiguration of Sotiros in Platanochori and Sarakinatranslated

On the 5th and 6th of August, the Orthodox Church worldwide celebrates one of the greatest celebrations of Christianity. She stands worshipfully in prayer before the majesty of the Transfiguration of our Lord and God and Savior Jesus Christ which took place a short time before His Passion before His Disciples Peter, James and John, with the participation of course of the Prophets Moses and Helios.

Every soul is shocked as if standing in front of this greatness of the voluntary Passion of our Lord walking; and this is experienced by Orthodoxy not only as a brilliant event of Theophany and interpretation of the face of our Lord, but also as a personal call to everyone to participate in this greatness of heaven that bends down to earth to take with Him and His creature, man.

On the evening of the Feast, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Ierissos, Mount Athos and Ardameri, Mr. Theoklitos, visited with his entourage the celebratory Holy Church of the Transfiguration of Sotiros Platanochorio, where the priest from Mount Athos has been faithfully serving for a number of years.
