Evening of Ecclesiastical and Zakynthian Musictranslated

The Educational Center for Speech and Art "Alithos", in collaboration with the polyphonic Choir of the "Child's Dream" Charity Association, in the context of the Fifteenth of August, is organizing an Evening of Zakynthian Music (chant and folk), on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at the Church of Panagoula Vanatou, as follows: A) In principle, at 7.30 p.m. inside the Church of the Dormition of the Virgin, called Panagoula, the Little Prayer Rule to Theotokos will be chanted, according to the Zakynthian musical idiom of chanting.

B) Then, from 8.30 to about 10 pm, in the forecourt of the Church, the Choir will perform Zakynthian songs, either from the folk tradition of the place, or poems set to music by Zakynthian poets.

In both cases, conductor DIMITRIS KANDILAS conducts.
