Crowd of faithful Serifians and vacationers at the Holy Church of the Annunciation of Chora Serifostranslated

The Most Reverend Metropolitan of Syros, Mr. Dorotheos II, officiated this morning at the Holy Church of the Annunciation of Kato Chora Serifos, with the liturgical joint prayer of the island's Vicars and the Deacon, and the prayerful presence of the Mayor, Mr. Const. Revinthi, the President of the Municipal Council, Municipal Councillors, Fire Service Officers and most of the faithful, Sheriffs and visiting holidaymakers. Proclaiming the divine word, His Holiness Mr. Dorotheos II, on the occasion of the Lord's question to Peter "of little faith, on what did you stand", underlined three fundamental messages for our time:

The part about turning our eyes to the wind and waves instead of Christ really hit home — I catch myself doing that with everyday stresses at school. Nice to see so many locals and summer visitors packed in together for the liturgy. The mayor and firefighters being there too makes it feel like the whole community showed up.

Yes, that thing about looking at the wind and the waves instead of Christ is really apt. I often find myself worrying about bills or my granddaughter in Düsseldorf. Nice to read that so many locals and vacationers were in the church together, even the mayor and the firefighters.

I also remember this place "Oligopiste, εις τί εδίστασας" when I check the accounts at home in the evening and both boys' studies come together. It is very good that Serifosians and vacationers stood together and that the mayor and firefighters were there. Part of προσευχή-κραγγή is my everyday life.
