Castle of Moglen: The monument associated with important personalities and events of Byzantine History was renderedtranslated

The Castle of Moglena, in Pella, a monument of Byzantine fortification architecture, which for centuries was a crucial center of administration, defense and ecclesiastical organization, in the region of Macedonia, was presented by the Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni to the local community and visitors to the region, after the completion of the project of its conservation, restoration and enhancement, as well as the shaping of its surrounding area. Its connection with important personalities and events of Byzantine history, such as the campaigns of Basil II, the so-called Bulgarian killer, and Alexios I Komnenos, highlights its role, not only as a local monument, but as an integral element of the historical path of Macedonia and Byzantium. The project, with a total budget of 1,850,000 euros, was financed by the Recovery and Resilience Fund.
The restoration and enhancement of the Castle of Moglen exceeds the limits of an important technical maintenance project. They represent a substantial investment in the preservation of cultural heritage, in the strengthening of historical memory and in the development perspective of a region, on the northern border, of our country.…
