Didymoteichos Damascenes to young women: Always stand by the weaktranslated

August 5, 2026 · 1 min read

By the grace of God, the 2nd Camp season for women of the Holy Metropolis of Didymoteicho, Orestias and Soufli has also been completed, which, like the one for the boys, took place in "Haroumen Akrogiali", in Makri, Alexandroupoli, from July 27 to August 3, with the theologian Fr. Athanasios Danakis in charge and the leader of the Camp the educational Anastasia Antoniadou.

About eighty girls were accommodated, completely free of charge at the exclusive expense of the Holy Metropolis, at the seaside camps and enjoyed days of carefree, singing, playing and spiritual replenishment opportunities.

The slogan of the Camp this year was shared with that of the boys' Camp "Speak to me Christ" and it worked in seven groups: "Humility", "Faith", "Obedience", "Hope", "Love", "Joy" and "Peace".

His Holiness visited the camps on July 31, and spoke to the young campers with fatherly words. He referred to the unique opportunity that the local Church offers them to get to know, in the beautiful environment of common life, the word of God, which will be a foundation of comfort and hope in the course of their lives.
