"We are called to live through communion with God. We are called to become sons by grace of the One Who is the Son by nature," emphasized Archbishop Varsanufie of Râmniciu, on Sunday, at Câineni Parish 2, Vâlcea county.

Referring to the Savior's prayer before the storm subsided, His Eminence emphasized that true communion with God is achieved through prayer and the work of grace.

"The confession You are truly the Son of God! (Matthew XIV, 33) was, in fact, the work of the Holy Spirit in the soul of the Holy Apostles. Man cannot penetrate through his powers the mystery of the Eternal Son of God."

"This path begins in prayer, grows through the work of grace and is fulfilled in the eternal sharing from the love of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit", said the Archbishop of Râmnic.

The Most Reverend Father Varsanufie explained that the ordeal the apostles went through during the storm became an opportunity for spiritual maturation.

Yes, I remember the moment with Saint Peter asking to walk on water. It shows exactly how it all starts with a simple desire to be with Christ, even when the storm comes. Prayer and grace do the rest, as His Holiness Varsanufie says. Thanks for the article.
