On the need for communion for clergy celebrating the Eucharist.
If any bishop, or presbyter, or deacon, or anyone on the list of the sacred order does not receive communion when making an offering, then let him declare the reason. And if she is blessed, may she be forgiven. If he does not declare, let him be excommunicated as guilty of causing harm to the people and bringing suspicion upon the one who made the offering, as if he had performed the sacrament incorrectly.

Εἴ τις ἐπίσκοπος, ἢ πρεσβύτερος, ἢ διάκονος, ἢ ἐκ τοῦ καταλόγου τοῦ ἱερατικοῦ, προσφορᾶς γενομένης μὴ μεταλάβοι, τὴν αἰτίαν εἰπάτω· καὶ ἐὰν ᾖ εὔλογος, συγγνώμης τυγχανέτω· εἰ δὲ μὴ λέγοι, ἀφοριζέσθω, ὡς αἴτιος βλάβης γενόμενος τῷ λαῷ, καὶ ὑπόνοιαν ἐμποιήσας κατὰ τοῦ προσενέγκαντος, ὡς μὴ ὑγιῶς ἀνενέγκαντος.
