On the prohibition for bishops to cross the borders of their regions for the sake of self-interest and, in general, for all clergy to engage in usury.
The passion of greed, which, without a doubt, is the mother of all vices, must be restrained, so that no one takes advantage of someone else’s property or, for the sake of profit, transgresses the definitions of the fathers, and so that no cleric is in any way allowed to receive growth from any thing. Regarding recent statements, since they are obscure and completely incomprehensible, a determination will be made based on our consideration. And what the Divine Scripture has clearly established does not need to be decided, but rather it needs to be followed. Accordingly, what is worthy of condemnation in the laity should be condemned even more so in the clergy.

Αὐρήλιος ἐπίσκοπος εἶπε· Τὴν τῆς ἀπληστίας ἐπιθυμίαν, ἣν πάντων τῶν κακῶν μητέρα εἶναι οὐδεὶς ἀμφιβάλλει, δέον ἐπέχειν, ἵνα μή τις τοῖς ἀλλοτρίοις κατακέχρηται, μηδὲ ἵνα διὰ κέρδος τοὺς τῶν Πατέρων ὄρους τις ὑπερβαίνῃ, μηδὲ ἵνα παντοίως τινὶ κληρικῷ ἐξὸν εἴη ἀπὸ οἱουδήποτε πράγματος τόκον λαβεῖν. Καὶ τὰ μὲν νεωστὶ ἀνενεχθέντα, ἀμαυρὰ ὄντα, καὶ καθόλου λανθάνοντα, σκοπούμενα παρ᾽ ἡμῶν, τυπωθήσονται. Περὶ δὲ ὧν φανερώτατα ἡ θεία Γραφὴ ἐθέσπισεν, οὐ δεῖ ψηφίζεσθαι, ἀλλὰ μᾶλλον ἕπεσθαι. Ἀκολούθως γὰρ τὸ ἐν λαϊκοῖς ἐπιλήψιμον, πολλῷ μᾶλλον ἐν κληρικοῖς ὀφείλει καταδικάζεσθαι. Σύμπασα ἡ σύνοδος εἶπεν· Οὐδεὶς κατὰ τῶν Προφητῶν, οὐδεὶς κατὰ τῶν Εὐαγγελίων χωρὶς κινδύνου ἐποίησε.
