That the baptism of adults who are unable to confess their faith due to serious illness can be carried out under the personal responsibility of guarantors faithful to the Church.
Sick people who cannot answer for themselves, let them be baptized when, at their discretion, a testimony is given about them at their own risk.

Ὥστε τοὺς ἀσθενοῦντας, οἵτινες ὑπὲρ ἑαυτῶν ἀποκρίνεσθαι οὐ δύνανται, τότε βαπτίζεσθαι, ὅτε τῇ αὐτῶν προαιρέσει τὴν περὶ αὐτῶν μαρτυρίαν καὶ κινδύνῳ ἰδίῳ εἴπωσι.[1]
