The resolution was to petition the emperors for the appointment of special defenders, ekdics, who would be able, together with the bishops, to protect the poor from the violence of the rich.
Everyone decided to ask the emperors, because of the mistreatment of the poor, who with their complaints constantly disturb the Church, that ecdics be elected for them, at the discretion of the bishops, to protect them from violence from the rich.

Σύμπασιν ἔδοξεν αἰτῆσαι ἀπὸ τῶν βασιλέων διὰ τὴν τῶν πενήτων κάκωσιν, ὧν ταῖς ἐπαχθείαις ἀπαύστως ἡ ἐκκλησία παρενοχλεῖται, ὥστε ἐκδίκους τούτοις μετὰ τῆς τῶν ἐπισκόπων προνοίας ἐπιλεγῆναι κατὰ τῆς τῶν πλουσίων τυραννίδος.[1]
