On the procedure for considering complaints and accusations of clergy. The accused must make every effort to justify themselves before the church court within a year and at the same time show their innocence to public opinion. If they do not manage to do this within the specified time, they lose the right to acquittal and are put on trial.
It is determined: whenever clergy are convicted and accused of crimes, if they, as they should, want to defend themselves in their case and prove their own innocence, then either for the sake of protecting the Church from censure, or for the sake of respect for their rank (which is why they are shown leniency), or because of the excessive arrogance of heretics and pagans, let them do this for a year, remaining out of communion. If within a year they do not take care of their justification, then henceforth not a single word from them will be accepted in any way.

Πάλιν ὡρίσθη, ἵνα, ὁσάκις κληρικῶν ἐλεγχθέντων, καὶ καταθεμένων τινὰ ἐγκλήματα, εἴτε διὰ τὸ τῆς ἐκκλησίας ὄνειδος, εἴτε διὰ τὴν αἰδεσιμότητα, ὧν χάριν τούτοις φειδὼ γίνεται, εἴτε διὰ τὴν ἀλαζόνα τῶν αἱρετικῶν καὶ ἐθνικῶν ἐπιγαυρίασιν, ἐὰν ὡς εἰκὸς ἐπαγωνίσασθαι τῷ ἰδίῳ πράγματι, καὶ τῆς ἰδίας ἀβλαβείας φροντίσαι θελήσωσιν, ἐντὸς ἀκοινωνησίας ἐνιαυτοῦ τοῦτο ποιήσωσιν· ἐὰν δὲ ἐντὸς ἐνιαυτοῦ τὸ πρᾶγμα αὐτῶν καθᾶραι καταφρονήσωσι, μηδεμία τούτων τοῦ λοιποῦ φωνὴ παντελῶς προσδεχθείη.[1]
