About the fact that a new bishop should not be installed in the place of the defrocked one during the appeal.
If a bishop is deposed by the court of these neighboring bishops and says that he is again taking up the work of justification, then another should be installed in his see not before the Bishop of Rome, having familiarized himself with the matter, makes a decision about it.

Γαυδέντιος ἐπίσκοπος εἶπεν· Ἐάν τις ἐπίσκοπος καθαιρεθῇ τῇ κρίσει τῶν ἐπισκόπων τῶν ἐν γειτνίᾳ τυγχανόντων, καὶ φάσκῃ πάλιν ἑαυτῷ ἀπολογίας πρᾶγμα ἐπιβάλλειν, μὴ πρότερον εἰς τὴν καθέδραν αὐτοῦ ἕτερον ὑποκαταστῆναι, ἐὰν μὴ ὁ τῆς Ῥώμης ἐπίσκοπος ἐπιγνούς, περὶ τούτου ὅρον ἐξενέγκῃ.
