About penances for those who converted to secular dwellings of the “bishopric”, churches and monasteries.
Since, as a result of the disaster that occurred in the Churches due to our sins, some sacred houses, bishoprics and monasteries were plundered by certain people and turned into ordinary dwellings, to the extent that those who hold them intend to give them away so that they can be restored to their former form, this is wonderful and noble; if not, then, if they are from the list of the sacred order, we decree that they should be cast out, and if they are monks or laymen, excommunicate them, for they are condemned by the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and may they be placed where the worm does not die and the fire is not quenched (Isa. 66:24; Mark 9: 44, 46), because they resist the voice of the Lord, saying: Houses of the Father Do not make mine a house of trade (John 2:16).

Ἐπειδὴ διὰ τὴν γενομένην κατὰ τὰς ἁμαρτίας ἡμῶν συμφορὰν ἐν ταῖς ἐκκλησίαις, καθηρπάγησάν τινες εὐαγεῖς οἶκοι ὑπό τινων ἀνδρῶν, ἐπισκοπεῖά τε, καὶ μοναστήρια, καὶ ἐγένοντο κοινὰ καταγώγια· εἰ μὲν οἱ διακρατοῦντες ταῦτα, προαιροῦνται ἀποδιδόναι, ἵνα κατὰ τὸ ἀρχαῖον ἀποκατασταθῶσιν, εὗ καὶ καλῶς ἔχει· εἰ δὲ μῆγε, εἰ μὲν τοῦ καταλόγου τοῦ ἱερατικοῦ εἰσι, τούτους καθαιρεῖσθαι προστάσσομεν· εἰ δὲ μοναχοί, ἢ λαϊκοί, ἀφορίζεσθαι· ὡς ὄντας κατακρίτους ἀπὸ τοῦ Πατρός, καὶ τοῦ Υἱοῦ, καὶ τοῦ Ἁγίου Πνεύματος· καὶ τετάχθωσαν, ὅπου ὁ σκώληξ οὐ τελευτᾷ, καὶ τὸ πῦρ οὐ σβέννυται· ὅτι τῇ τοῦ Κυρίου φωνῇ ἐναντιοῦνται, τῇ λεγούσῃ· Μὴ ποιεῖτε τὸν οἶκον τοῦ Πατρός μου οἶκον ἐμπορίου.
