About going around the city under the guise of desert monks (accepted into a monastery or expelled).
Regarding the so-called hermits, who, putting on black clothes and letting their hair grow, go around the cities, move among worldly people and dishonor their vow, we determine: if they want to take the monastic image (σχήμα) after cutting their hair, following the example of other monks, then place them in a monastery and count them among the brethren. If they do not want this, then completely expel them from the cities, and let them live in the deserts, after the name of which they came up with a nickname for themselves.
