About the prohibition of the practice of eating eggs and cheese on Saturdays and Sundays of Lent.
Similarly, we learned that in the Armenian country and other places on Saturdays and Sundays of the Holy Pentecost, some eat eggs and cheese. Therefore, it has been decided that the Church of God throughout the entire universe, following a single rite, should fast and abstain from everything that can be eaten, as well as from eggs and cheese, which are the fruit and product of what we abstain from. If anyone does not observe this, then if they are clergy, let them be expelled, and the laity - excommunicated.

Ὡσαύτως μεμαθήκαμέν ἔν τε τῇ Ἀρμενίων χώρᾳ, καὶ ἐν ἑτέροις τόποις, ἐν τοῖς σάββασι, καὶ ἐν ταῖς Κυριακαῖς τῆς ἁγίας Τεσσαρακοστῆς, ᾠὰ καὶ τυρὸν ἐσθίειν τινάς. Ἔδοξε τοίνυν καὶ τοῦτο, ὥστε τὴν κατὰ πᾶσαν τὴν οἰκουμένην τοῦ Θεοῦ ἐκκλησίαν, μιᾷ κατακολουθοῦσαν τάξει, τὴν νηστείαν ἐπιτελεῖν, καὶ ἀπέχεσθαι, ὥσπερ θυτοῦ παντοίου, οὕτω δὴ ᾠοῦ, καὶ τυροῦ, ἃ καρπός εἰσι, καὶ γεννήματα, ὧν ἀπεχόμεθα. Εἰ δὲ μὴ τοῦτο παραφυλάττοιεν, εἰ μὲν κληρικοὶ εἶεν, καθαιρείσθωσαν· εἰ δὲ λαϊκοί, ἀφοριζέσθωσαν.
