About penance for men who braid and skillfully style their hair.
Those who have put on Christ through baptism have vowed to imitate His life in the flesh. Therefore, we fatherly heal those who, to the detriment of those who look upon them, remove and decorate the hair on their heads with sophisticated weaving and thereby seduce unconfirmed souls with suitable penance, educating them and teaching them to live chastely, so that, leaving the deceitfulness and vanity of all material things, they are constantly transported in mind to an undying and blissful life, with fear they have immaculate behavior, approaching God as much as possible through the purification of life and they adorned the inner man more than the outer man with virtues and good, impeccable morals, so as not to carry in himself any remnant of depravity stemming from the enemy. If anyone spends his life violating this rule, let him be excommunicated.

Οἱ τὸν Χριστὸν διὰ τοῦ βαπτίσματος ἐνδυσάμενοι, τὴν ἐν σαρκὶ αὐτοῦ πολιτείαν μιμεῖσθαι καθωμολόγησαν. Τοὺς οὖν τὰς ἐν τῇ κεφαλῇ τρίχας πρὸς λύμην τῶν ὁρώντων ἐν ἐπινοίαις ἐμπλοκῆς εὐθετίζοντας, καὶ διασκευάζοντας, καὶ δέλεαρ προτιθέντας ἐντεῦθεν ταῖς ἀστηρίκτοις ψυχαῖς, ἐπιτιμίῳ προσφόρῳ πατρικῶς θεραπεύομεν, παιδαγωγοῦντες αὐτούς, καὶ σωφρόνως βιοῦν ἐκδιδάσκοντες, πρὸς τὸ ἀφέντας τὴν ἐκ τῆς ὕλης ἀπάτην καὶ ματαιότητα, πρὸς τὴν ἀνώλεθρον καὶ μακαρίαν ζωὴν τὸν νοῦν μετάγειν διηνεκῶς, καὶ ἐν φόβῳ ἁγνὴν ἔχειν ἀναστροφήν, καὶ Θεῷ πλησιάζειν, κατὰ τὸ ἐφικτόν, διὰ τῆς ἐν βίῳ καθάρσεως, καὶ τὸν ἔνδον, ἢ τὸν ἔξω ἄνθρωπον μᾶλλον κοσμεῖν ἀρεταῖς καὶ χρηστοῖς καὶ ἀμώμοις τοῖς ἤθεσιν· ὥστε μηδὲν λείψανον φέρειν ἐν ἑαυτοῖς τῆς τοῦ ἐναντίου σκαιότητος. Εἰ δέ τις παρὰ τὸν παρόντα κανόνα διαγίνοιτο, ἀφοριζέσθω.
