Likewise, if anyone wants in any way to violate what was decreed about everyone at the Holy Council of Ephesus, the Holy Council determined: if they are bishops or clergy, they will be completely deposed from the degree, but if they are laity, they will be alienated from communion.

Ὁμοίως δὲ καὶ εἴ τινες βουληθεῖεν, τὰ περὶ ἑκάστου πεπραγμένα ἐν τῇ ἁγίᾳ συνόδῳ, τῇ ἐν Ἐφέσῳ, οἰῳδήποτε τρόπῳ παρασαλεύειν, ἡ ἁγία σύνοδος ὥρισεν, εἰ μὲν ἐπίσκοποι εἶεν, ἢ κληρικοί, τοῦ οἰκείου παντελῶς ἀποπίπτειν βαθμοῦ· εἰ δὲ λαϊκοί, ἀκοινωνήτους ὑπάρχειν.
