Pilgrims vandalized the church of the Transfiguration of the Savior in Saronikostranslated

Sadness and disgust are caused by the images that came to light of vandalism in a small church one day after the feast of the Transfiguration of the Savior in the Municipality of Saronikos. As can be seen in related images, the profane overturned chairs, unleashed their anger on the royals, who decorated the church, while they caused destruction even inside the Sanctuary, breaking icons in front of the Holy Altar and causing other damage. of Sotiros", characterizing it as "a place of faith, memory and special symbolism for our local community, especially these days".

At the same time, it is announced that the Municipality is already in contact with the competent authorities, in order to investigate the incident and identify those responsible, while it will proceed immediately with the necessary work to repair the damages.

It’s a pity to look at these overturned chairs and broken icons right in front of the throne. In Samara, too, small chapels sometimes suffer from hooligans, but to do so on the day after the patronal feast day is very low. I hope the police find these people quickly.
