Dimitriados Ignatios: "Let's put the Virgin Mary as a guide in our lives"translated

On Sunday August 2, Rev. Metropolitan of Dimitrias and Almyros, Mr. Ignatios, at the Mass of the Holy Prayer in honor of the Most Holy Theotokos. After the end of the Service, a cultural event of speech and music took place, in the context of the "August Prayers", which are organized by the Cultural Body of the Holy Metropolis of Demetrias and Almyros "Magneton Kivotos, for the rescue of the cultural stock".

In his sermon, His Holiness emphasized that "we are going through a time that has many difficulties and things change from one moment to the next. The Prayers are the traditional element in the worship of our Orthodox Church, which we primarily remember from young children. Our grandparents taught them to all of us. And this tradition continues and is passed on to similar peoples.

And we praise God, because, despite the difficult time, the Virgin Mary is here. And we want her. And our soul is thirsty. Because she is a Mother. Because she is a Driver. And this is how the hagiographers hagiographed her: to point and lead to Christ. So let's put the Virgin Mary in the driver's seat,...

Thanks for the article. I especially remember what Bishop Ignatius said about our grandparents, who taught us the Paraklis from childhood. In Kazan, too, many elderly parishioners still sing these prayers from memory. It’s good that the tradition lives on in Greece.
