The Byzantine chapel, dedicated to St. Stephen the First Martyr, of the Drakona Parish, celebrates the collection of the holy relics of St. Stephen. Our Bishop officiated Vespers, where after the blessing of the loaves he noted, among other things: "August, month of rest and rest, month of emigrants coming to their ancestral home, the place and root of origin, without which man looks like a leaf of an autumn tree, but also the month of our Virgin Mary, as from the 1st to the 31st of this month the pansept and solemn Face of our Virgin Mary is projected.

Her constant presence in our lives. The Great Mother embraces us all with open arms. The counter gift of the ocean of Her love should be our thanks to Her and our prayer as she gives us not according to our desire and our will, but whatever is beneficial for our salvation, for our freedom and redemption from our passions and weaknesses. Yesterday when I went to Vespers in Drakona, I was impressed that the Despot said about August as the month when the emigrants return to the village. Indeed, it is so; without a root a man dries up like a leaf he says. And good that he reminded us to ask the Virgin Mary not for what we want but for what benefits us.
