Timotheus of Thessaly: Osia Irini Chrysovalantou was an authentic person of the Churchtranslated

Believers from the wider area of Farsala and Karditsa gathered on the evening of Monday July 27, 2026 at the new Holy Monastery of Osia Irini of Chrysovalanto in Katohori Farsala, in order to participate in the solemn Vespers of the Inauguration of the Catholic Church of the Monastery and the feast of Osia Irini. The holy procession was officiated by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Thessaliotidos and Phanariofersalon, Mr. Timotheus, who previously offered martyred relics of Saints, which were placed on the Holy Altar, marking the beginning of the sacred Inauguration ceremony.

After the Vespers service, His Eminence addressed a speech of spiritual edification to the large congregation, taking occasion from the sacred memory of Saint Irene of Chrysovalandos, a prominent figure of monasticism, who lived in the 9th century, at a particularly critical time for the history of the Church and the Byzantine Empire.
