Komotini honors the patron saint Agia Paraskevi – Crowd of believers at the Polyhieratic Vesperstranslated

With particular splendor and the participation of more believers than any other year, the Great Poly-priestly Vespers was celebrated on the afternoon of Saturday, July 25, 2026, in the celebratory Holy Chapel of Agia Paraskevi in Komotini, in honor of the Holy Martyr Agia Paraskevi, patroness and patron of the city. The Great Polyhierarchical Vespers was presided over by the Theophilous Bishop of Talanti, Mr. Theologos, co-celebrants of Rev. Metropolitans of Messinia Mr. Chrysostomos and Mr. Panteleimonos of Maroneia and Komotini.
The Divine Word was preached by Rev. Metropolitan of Messinia Mr. Chrysostomos.
From the early afternoon, the church and the surrounding area were overwhelmed by a multitude of believers, who came to worship the holy icon of Agia Paraskevi and to participate enthusiastically in the solemn Vespers, expressing their reverence and love for the patroness of Komotini.
Afterwards, the Litany of the Holy Icon of Agia Paraskevi was carried out in the central streets of the city and the Holy Procession was accompanied by representatives of associations, Local Politicians, State Lords, representatives of the Military Authorities and Security Forces of Komotini and a crowd...
