At the same time, mourning is heavy in Amari of Rethymno for the death of the two firefighters who lost their lives during the deadly fire in Rethymno, when they lost their orientation and got trapped in the flames.

They are 58-year-old Manolis Stratidakis and 25-year-old Pantelis Diamantakis who fell in the line of duty.

The funerals of the two firefighters will take place today, Thursday, July 30. Shortly after 12 noon, the exodus service for Pantelis Diamantakis will be sung at the Holy Church of Agios Georgios in Fourfouras. The funeral of Manolis Stratidakis will take place in his village, Gerakari, at 5 pm on Thursday, in the Holy Church of the Annunciation of the Theotokos, where his burial will also take place.
