The Most Reverend Archbishop of America Mr. Elpidophoros has appointed Archpriest Gregory Gilbert as Superior of the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New York, effective September 1, 2026. In the announcement issued by the Archdiocese of America in the English language, it is stated that "Fr. Gregory, who currently serves as Primate of the Holy Metropolis of New Jersey, brings to the Cathedral and to his ministries rich academic, liturgical and pastoral experience, as well as a deep love for the Orthodox Christian faith and the life of the Church".

The announcement also states that "Archbishop Mr. Elpidophoros announced the appointment of Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne Ilias Villis as Acting Protoconsul of the Holy Metropolis of New Jersey, with effect from August 16, 2026, in order to continue the pastoral and administrative care of the Metropolis.

Father Ilias will continue to serve as the Prime Minister of the Direct Archdiocesan Region".
