Bishop Veniamin of Southern Bessarabia stopped on Tuesday in his native village, Puhoi, in the Ialoveni district of the Republic of Moldova, where he prayed for the repose of the souls of his parents, Father Ioan and priestess Evdochia.

The Hierarch officiated the Holy Liturgy and the service of the Parastas in the "Saint Hierarch Nicolae" Parish Church, together with a council that was attended by clerics from the Cahul Diocesan Center and from the parishes and monasteries within the diocese.

Many believers from the community participated in the prayers: family members and friends and spiritual sons of those mentioned, who raised prayers for the repose of their souls.

Reverend Father Veniamin evoked with deep gratitude the bright faces of his parents, showing that their whole life was a testimony of love for God and for neighbor.
