Visit of Dimitrias Ignatius to the campers of Agios Lavrentioutranslated

The camp of the Holy Metropolis of Dimitrias in Agios Lavrentios Pelion was visited today, Sunday, August 2, 2026, by Rev. Metropolitan of Dimitrias, Mr. Ignatios. During his visit, 80 high school and high school girls were hosted as part of the 5th Camp Period. The Chief Mrs. Martha Sioula is in charge of the period, with Elder Paraskevi Varvarelis as Deputy Chief, while Fr. Efstathios Varvarelis is in spiritual charge.

His Eminence, addressing the campers, referred to this year's theme of the camp, society and peace, stressing that "peace in the world is not just an external state achieved by political agreements or human efforts, however important they may be, but is a deeper spiritual reality that begins in the heart of man. In a world tested by conflicts, tensions, fear and insecurity, true peace remains a demand and cannot exist without the presence of God in people's lives. Only when man reconciles with God, with himself and with his fellow man, can he contribute substantially to the creation of a peaceful society and truly...

Good thing they chose this theme of peace and communion this year. I liked what the Metropolitan said, that true peace starts from the heart and not just from political papers. May God help those 80 girls, with Mrs. Martha and priestess Paraskevi, to leave there more at peace.

It’s good that we chose a topic about peace and communication. The Metropolitan said correctly - real silence in the soul begins not with papers, but when a person makes peace with God. May God grant that the girls, Marfa and Mother Paraskeva return home calmer than when they arrived.
