Barnabas of Neapolis: Our Lady comes to teach us with Her silencetranslated

At the Holy Church of the Holy Cross of Sorting on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Neapolis and Stavroupolis, Mr. Barnabas, officiated at the Mass of the Great Prayer Canon, which was sung with dignity by the ladies of the Parish.

"Month of August, Easter of the summer", with this phrase the Reverend Mr. Barnabas began his sermon, underlining the greatness of the feast of the Mother of God that seals the summer month.

"The feast of the Virgin Mary, as the Dormition of the Virgin, is recorded, and although it declares a separation, it nevertheless constitutes Easter as a passage into the Kingdom of God. The Virgin Mary is coming to teach us with her silence, to cover our spiritual nakedness with her cloak."

Mr. Giannis Papageorgiou, the Coordinator of the special Office of the Prime Minister in Thessaloniki, was present at the Ceremony.
